I love the look of broomstick lace crochet. However broomstick lace can be somewhat challenging having to hold the large knitting needle and make crochet stitches at the same time.

This faux fake broomstick lace stitch is the solution. With this stitch you do not need a knitting needle. You just use your regular crochet hook. You draw up smaller loops and only 4 of them at a time, and make your single crochet stitches in the top as you go.

Also a little history – broomstick lace crochet has also been known through the years as Jiffy Lace, Peruvian Lace, Peacock Stitch and a few other names.
