This is a nice and simple head or hair band that you can crochet very quickly. It tapers down to two points in the back, which connect together with a button. You can include the flower or omit it.

Be sure to check out my YouTube Tutorial Video on how to make this in the next section!

Materials:
200 yards worsted weight yarn. H crochet hook (5.0 mm). Yarn needle. Scissors.

Instructions:
Note - this pattern is based upon measurements as opposed to specific row or stitch counts.
Slip knot. CH 45 (as a sample) for an adult hat. Preferably chain an ODD number of stitches to match the "hat height" as shown in the video. In the video, a sample of 9 inches was used for the hat height of an adult. If you are adding a brim, add 2" or 3" onto this number.
Row 1: Skip the first 2 CHs. 1 SC in next CH. CH 1. *Skip next CH. 1 SC in next CH. CH 1*. Repeat between * and * until the end. You will end with a SC. CH 2 and turn.
Row 2: 1 sSC in previous row's CH 1 SP. CH 1. *1 SC in next CH 1 space. CH 1*. Repeat between * and * until the end. You will end with a SC. CH 2 and turn.
Row 3+: Repeat Row 2 until you reach 2-3" less than the circumference of the head. A 22" head will require 19" worth of crochet rows. Please see video for explanation.
Once completed, leave a long 24" tail for sewing. Sew side seam. Weave and cut in ends. Use another 24" piece of yarn for weaving in and out of the top edge. Tie and knot ends together. Cut excess yarn.
