I Love Autumn

I love spring and summer with all of the pretty flowers and trees. After a while, the summer gets really hot (even here in Pennsylvania) and one looks forward to the fall season. Pumpkins always remind me of wonderful autumns here in my hometown.

Between the changing of the leaves, and fall festivals, combined with pumpkins everywhere, it’s really a beautiful time of year.

About This Crochet Pumpkin

This pattern is quite easy to make. I’m using 100% acrylic worsted weight (medium weight) yarn. The only crochet stitch used is a single crochet. The orange pumpkin part is made first, and it consists of crocheting a single crochet rectangle that’s about 7 inches by 19 inches.

Next, you’ll make the stem. The pumpkin is then filled with polyester fiber and cinched up on both the top and bottom section. A strand of yarn helps create sections in the pumpkin. You can add leaves and a curly chenille stem for further decoration.
