How to Crochet a Tote Bag
This crochet tote bag is easy to make and can be finished in one day. The handbag organizer inside takes the place of a sew-in lining!
About Crochet Tote Bag
This crochet tote bag is probably one of the easiest patterns out there for handbags. You only need to know how to make a chain and single crochet stitch. This is excellent for beginners especially!
If you regularly read my website, you’ll find I’m always providing the pros and cons of different types of yarn. I used 100% cotton yarn in worsted weight for my bag. However, in the past I have also used 100% acrylic yarn as well as a 100% wool yarn. Feel free to use whatever you have or can find these days.
Most crochet and knit bags need some sort of lining. If you know how to sew this is not a problem. However if you are not a sewer, or simply don’t like to make a lining, then this option is for you. Let me introduce the handbag organizer! You can find plenty of these online. They basically are the “inside” of a handbag, complete with a zipper and pockets. You just slide this organizer into your handmade bag and voila! Perfect lining!
As always I have a step-by-step tutorial video to assist you with this pattern. Enjoy! Donna Wolfe from Naztazia.
