How to Crochet the 3D Wavy Shell Stitch Pattern
The crochet 3D wavy shell stitch is made like the 3D wavy edging pattern with several rows of double crochet stitches in between.
About the Crochet 3D Wavy Shell Stitch Pattern
I love shell stitches. Plus I love 3D stitches. Combine the two together and you get this lovely textured design for your blankets and scarves. One of the nice things about the 3D waves is you can use them sparingly in your work, or make the entire project using the pattern.
This wavy shell stitch pattern is based upon one I did several years ago as a wavy border edging.
The pattern consists of double crochet wave stitches with double crochet rows in between. You can add more or less double crochet rows in between the waves to create different looks.
I’m using 100% acrylic worsted weight yarn (medium weight) and a size H 5 mm crochet hook for my sample. As always feel free to use whatever weight yarn and its corresponding or suggested crochet hook that you prefer.
