Bean Stitch

The Layers Book Review discusses two books authored by Kristin Omdahl. The Layers Crochet and Knit books contain patterns for fashionable garments.

Here’s a crochet stitch that produces a nice shell stitch. It’s a relatively basic stitch that works nice for a blanket, scarf, shawl, and more. There is a nice lace effect formed by V stitches on one row, with the shells or fans above on the next row.

The crossed treble stitch is one of my favorite crochet stitch patterns for when I need a lacy effect.
