How to Crochet a 12 Petal Flower
This crochet 12 petal flower is cute for the kitchen. Make these flowers in cheerful colors to brighten your day!
About This Pattern
This crochet 12 petal flower is nice and colorful for the kitchen and dining areas. The 12 points of the flower are made the same way, so the pattern is easy to remember. You can use 1, 2, 3, or more colors of yarn in your flowers.
The pattern starts off with double crochet stitches in the round. Then V stitches, consisting of double crochet stitches, form the petals. The V stitches increase in count for every round, which creates the nice flared out look to the hot pad.
You can use this as a decoration, or, actually use it as a wash cloth or pot holder. For use as a decoration, 100% acrylic yarn will work just fine. Since I like to use mine to rest stuff on it, I make mine out of 100% cotton yarn. In any case, I’m using worsted weight yarn and a size G hook for my sample. The size G hook can vary depending upon the manufacturer. Some hooks are 4 mm, some 4.25 mm, some are even 4.5 mm.
As always I have a step-by-step tutorial video to help you along with this flower. Enjoy! Donna Wolfe from Naztazia
