How to Crochet the Corner to Corner Stitch Pattern C2C
Learn how to crochet the corner to corner stitch pattern. This stitch pattern is also known as C2C as well as the diagonal box stitch.
About This Crochet Pattern
The crochet corner to corner stitch pattern is a lovely technique that allows you to create interesting pictures and patterns in your work. Decades ago it was known as the diagonal box stitch, sometimes the diagonal block stitch. And it’s pretty easy to see why it was called that back then!
Nowadays, the corner-to-corner (C2C for short) crochet stitch pattern is used as a substitute for traditional crochet stitches made in rows in graphghans. Instead of making a blue single crochet stitch where a blue block appears on a grid, very often crocheters will substitute each block with a full block of C2C stitch instead.
I think it’s neat how you can just change colors every few rows and get some interesting geometric patterns when you lay all of the squares out on the table. You can make the design look like chevrons, diamonds, and more. If you are first starting out with C2C, you might find it fun just to make a washcloth, dishcloth, and potholder just to try out the many different colors and patterns you can imagine.
As always I have a full step-by-step tutorial video to guide you through working with the corner to corner crochet stitch pattern. And be sure to check back on my website shortly for some neat designs and patterns using this stitch pattern!
