How to Crochet the Pumpkin Stitch

About the Pumpkin Stitch
Back in early 2019, I did a tutorial on how to crochet the strawberry stitch, using Tunisian crochet. Then in early 2023 I did a regular crochet strawberry stitch tutorial. For the past several years, I’ve been told by other crocheters if I do the strawberry stitch in orange instead of red, the design looks like little crochet pumpkins. And they are right!
All you need to do is follow my tutorial video for the strawberry stitch, but use an orange color yarn instead of the red yarn. Speaking of yarn, I’m oftentimes asked if this stitch pattern would look good in chenille type of yarn. Yes, a resounding yes! A fellow crocheter sent me a photo of her blanket using the strawberry stitch done in the thicker chenille type of soft, fuzzy yarn. She did an amazing job using that yarn!
