About This Book
I received a copy of this book to review by David & Charles, a well-known publishing company of many types of books, including those of the fiber arts. The first thing that caught my eye was the gorgeous cover photo! The blue sky combined with the Modern Bohemian Blanket pattern really sets the tone for the rest of the patterns.
I thought it was pretty neat to find out the author, Susan Kennedy, has a Ph. D. in neuroscience. How cool is that? She also resides in the mountains of Southwest Colorado, which clearly serves as the inspiration for the beautiful patterns in the book.
You might have seen my short-form and longer review videos for this book. The main piece I chose to work on is the Raider Ridge wall hanging. I love the background colors as well as the main design. In my particular wall hanging, I used the method of crocheting over the yarn as I go for the color changes, so my wall hanging looks the same on both sides. You could also carry the yarn along the back too.

Colorwork
I think overall you’ll find that the patterns are spectacular because of the colorwork involved. The nice thing is if you aren’t familiar with working with multiple colors of yarn at once, there are step-by-step photos and tutorials explaining different methods in the book. Plus there’s a nice section on Mosaic Crochet, which you know is the big thing right now in our world.
In the below videos, you’ll see that I reviewed five of the newer books from the publishing company of David & Charles. This book was included in there as one of my favorites!
