How to Crochet a Star Ornament
The Crochet Star Ornament is a lovely star shaped applique that works great any time of year, most especially at Christmas time on your tree.
About Crochet Star Ornament
I remember making stars similar to this back in the early 1980s for my parent’s Christmas tree. I found a handful of them a few weeks ago and decided to recreate them. Good thing I did, right!? They are too cute!
These crochet stars work up fast and are easy to make. You’ll start with a round of double crochet stitches, then each point of the star is made the same way. You’ll make a chain and a series of stitches along that chain, then connect the whole thing to the center. If you know the basics of crochet this should be pretty simple to do. Yarn and Other Supplies
You can use whatever yarn and corresponding hook you wish for this pattern. It sizes up and down nicely depending upon the thickness (or thinness) of the fiber you are using. For my sample, I’m using worsted weight 100% acrylic yarn (the brand is I Love This Yarn) along with a corresponding hook. With worsted weight yarn and this pattern, feel free to use a G or an H hook, or something between 4 and 5 mm. If you need a larger hook, feel free to use it!
