How to Crochet Teardrop Stitch

Here’s a fun stitch called the crochet teardrop stitch. It’s like a mini version of the larksfoot stitch. There are less holes than the traditional larksfoot stitch, plus the design pattern that forms is smaller in size. This stitch pattern works nicely for a scarf, baby blanket, afghan, shawl, bag, and more.

Stitches Used

This stitch pattern is great for a beginner who has been crocheting for awhile, since you will only need to know a few basic crochet stitches. You will need to know how to crochet a chain (CH), a single crochet (SC), a double crochet (DC) and a treble crochet (TR). Of course the step-by-step tutorial video will show you how to do this stitch pattern.

Supplies Needed

For this sample, I’m using some of my scrap ends of Red Heart worsted weight yarn. I’m also using an H 5 mm crochet hook. As always, with any stitch pattern you can use any weight of yarn. It’s best to look on the label for the suggested corresponding crochet hook size.
