How to Crochet a Winter Hat
This Crochet Winter Hat makes a nice gift for yourself and others. It’s quick and easy to make with two basic crochet stitches!
About this Crochet Winter Hat Pattern
I love making hats, especially those for the winter. Here in Pennsylvania, we go to extremes with weather. A week ago, it was 75 degrees and I was wearing shorts. Today when I wore this hat outside, it was 25 degrees. As you can see, I do test all of my hats. This one definitely will keep you nice and toasty warm!
This beanie is pretty easy to make. It is made flat, in rows. The side is then seamed and the top cinched together. You will use just chain stitches and single crochet stitches for this pattern. This hat is geared towards the beginner but even advanced crocheters will appreciate how fast and easy this can be made. This is especially helpful when you are looking for last minute gifts – either for yourself or for others. (Nothing wrong with treating yourself once in a while!)
I’m using 100% acrylic worsted weight yarn and a size H 5 millimeter crochet hook. You might need to adjust your hook size if you crochet tighter or looser than I do. In the video and pattern, I do provide measurements before you get too far into the pattern. After row 3, it’s a good idea to check your work to ensure the width is correct.
