Layers Pattern Books

I am thrilled to do this Layers book review. What is the Layers book review? It is a review of two pattern books authored by my good friend Kristin Omdahl. Not only did she produce and release one book, but two books at the same time! That is really an amazing accomplishment. They are filled with the best garment patterns!

Specifically, one of the Layers books contains crochet patterns and the other contains knitting projects. Both books focus on making fashionable garments.

You’ll find a variety of tops, ruanas, tunics, cardigans, wraps, skirts, and more in each. I made a video detailing both books and what I like about the patterns within each.

What type of instructions are in the book?

You’ll find traditional knit and crochet written instructions. Plus there is a detailed glossary for abbreviations. You’ll also find stitch diagrams as well as construction diagrams. The layout of the book is very clean. The print is of a larger, easy-to-read size.

What sizes are the patterns designed for?

For many of the garments, you’ll find sizes ranging from XS to 3X. Accessories like hats and shawls generally run in a single size and are designed with enough ease or stretch to accommodate most sizes.
