Crochet Open Shell Stitch
Here’s a neat crochet open shell stitch pattern that has two alternating sets of stitches within it. This shell pattern works nice for a scarf or a blanket. It can also work nicely for any other crochet item as well such as a hat, shawl, skirt, and more.
The first row is a little bit tricky to set up. However, all other rows simply repeat row 2, so the stitch pattern becomes very simple after that. This is good for beginners who have learned how to crochet basic stitches.
The stitches used in this pattern are the chain (CH), single crochet (SC), and double crochet (DC).
For my sample I’m using worsted weight yarn and a size H 5 mm crochet hook. However you can use any other weight and hook size that you wish.
