Crochet Splendid Shawl
Here’s a fun, pretty, and relatively easy to make crochet shawl called my Splendid Shawl. It’s worked up in a worsted weight yarn, but you can use a DK weight yarn as well. It’s a triangular shaped shawl that is made from the bottom up using a modified C2C stitch pattern. Because it starts at the bottom point and increases as you crochet the rows, you can customize its size to fit any body type.
And the shawl is basically a corner to corner or C2C stitch pattern done in treble crochet stitches instead of the more traditional double crochet stitches. The treble crochet stitches are looser and give this shawl a nice drape. Then a shell or fan-like edging is crocheted down one side, then at the point, and then back up the other side. The picots within the treble crochet fans really add a nice interesting effect to the edges.
I’m using Red Heart Ombre yarn and a size H 5 mm crochet hook with this pattern.
