How to Crochet Easy Lace Up Slippers
These crochet lace-up slippers are amazingly easy to make. They consist of single crochet stitches made in the back loops. You will make the slippers in one piece with one simple cinching in the toe area. The laces hold everything together. Most importantly, the bottom section is flat and has no seams!
Slippers Construction
Slippers, shoes, and socks can sometimes be difficult to crochet. You have to get just the right measurement correct for a person’s feet. Most patterns call for these items to be crocheted in the round, which can be difficult for a beginner.
These slippers are incredibly easy to make. Plus they are very comfortable to wear. First, they use only single crochet stitches, along with a basic chain. You will see how I make these slippers in the back loops. Because of this, they have a bit of a stretch to them to accommodate most feet sizes. Do you need assistance with the basics of crochet? If so, please see my beginner crochet videos.
Next, we made these slippers in rows. No worries about having to remember which round you are on and joining with slip stitches. No need to worry about moving seam lines either.
Also, these slippers have only one small gathering at the toe. There are no other seams. There are no lumpy seams at the bottom, like many other slippers have. This slipper contains just one large piece.
Finally, the laces hold everything together. Obviously these will work on regular-sized ankles and feet.
However, if you have a wider foot or a narrow foot, or a larger ankle or a smaller one, these can adjust to fit your personal size. If you have trouble putting regular socks on, these are a great solution. These can open up and adjust easily over swollen ankles or swollen feet. (I remember having both during pregnancy). Or the laces can be tightened to fit feet and ankles that are thin and everything slips down on.

Bottoms of Slippers
If you have slippery floors like I do in your house, you might want to add some puffy paint to the bottom of the slippers. It’s pretty simple to do this. You’ll take some puffy paint and either draw little dots or lines on the bottom of the slippers. Follow the drying time on the label. Usually you can wash and dry the item after 72 hours.
