Crochet Rose Pattern
The crochet rose pattern is a nice simple flower for any level. These flowers use single crochet and double crochet stitches along with a starting chain. This rose pattern works great as an embellishment to a hat, scarf, shawl, blanket, bag and more.
Pattern Info
This pattern is nice and quick to make. You’ll first start with a chain, then a row of single crochet stitches. I would recommend using the “back” or the “top” loop of the starting chain when you work your row of single crochet stitches.
You might wonder if it’s just better to start with a foundation single crochet stitch? I found that it was too stiff and didn’t quite make the roll work as good. You might have different results of course. So I stuck with the chain and then a single crochet row.
After that, each petal is made in the same way with 5 double crochet stitches surrounded by single crochet stitches. It is very simple to memorize.
I like sewing these onto hats or handbags mostly. However you can attach them onto a silk flower stem if you wish with hot glue. I like to go to the local stores and get an inexpensive bunch of silk flowers. I’ll pop off the flowers for use on future wreaths. Then use the stems for crochet flowers.
