The crochet bullion stitch border is a fun edging for a blanket, shawl, scarf, and more. It is made with a modified bullion stitch done around a chain. It forms a nice shell or scallop border along a crochet or even knit item. It definitely has a 3D puffy look to it, so it adds some interest to blankets and especially scarves.

The bead stitch is a fun textured stitch pattern made with just yarn but no actual beads. This is a great stitch for blankets, rugs, handbags, hats, scarves, or anything where you don’t want an open lace pattern – but are looking for something more than just a plain stitch.

Here’s a really nice and easy shell stitch pattern. It’s good for blankets, scarves, shawls, handbags and more. I find this one is easy to remember. Row 2 is repeated throughout the pattern. So once you learn that one (and it’s just double crochet stitches and single crochets) – the stitch pattern works up very quickly.
