How to Crochet the Tunisian Puff Stitch
The Tunisian Crochet puff stitch adds a 3D texture to your work. The effect is created by alternating Tunisian simple with puff stitches.
About This Pattern
Puff stitches are a lot of fun to make and add some amazing texture to your work. Sometimes puff stitches can take up a lot of yarn as well as make a handmade item feel stiff. This method makes for a nice soft drape in your work.
This pattern is pretty simple to memorize. It’s basically 4 simple stitches alternating with 2 sets of the puffy stitches. The puff stitch consists of 3 sets of making a yarn over, inserting the crochet hook, and then drawing up a loop. Return passes are easy with Tunisian crochet as well.
For my sample I’m using 100% acrylic worsted weight yarn and a size H 5 mm Tunisian crochet hook. Feel free to substitute with whatever size yarn and its corresponding hook that you prefer.
